"Kolkata to get Water Metro connectivity," says Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari
Police in Hooghly have arrested Rajesh Sarkar, also known as Rajiv, for allegedly defrauding people of lakhs of rupees by promising Group C jobs at Swasthya Bhawan. The accused, a resident of Hooghly, reportedly assured a young man of employment in exchange for a large sum of money and handed over an appointment letter.
The victim filed a complaint at the Electronics Complex police station in April this year after discovering that the appointment letter was entirely fake when he visited Swasthya Bhawan. Police sources confirmed that the letter bore no official verification, prompting an investigation into the alleged scam.
Rajesh Sarkar was produced before the Bidhannagar Mahkama Court, which sent him to police custody for questioning. Authorities stated that the investigation will continue to identify other individuals potentially involved in the fraud and determine the full scope of the financial deception.
